Locate Norwich Market

Norwich Market is right in the heart of Norwich’s shopping district, below City Hall and facing Gentlemans Walk.

This area is widely pedestrianised, and it is impossible to approach the market any way but on foot.

However, buses coming into Norwich stop either at the bus station or on St Stephen’s Street. Both are a short walk from the market. The train station is also within walkable distance.

From the bus station

  1. Come out of the bus station at the end opposite the Travelodge, and turn left into Surrey Street.
  2. At the end of the road, you will be at a junction with St Stephen’s Street.
  3. Cross St Stephen’s Street, and immediately cross again to your right.
  4. Turn left again, and then right into the wide, pedestrianised Gentlemans Walk.
  5. Continue down Gentlemans Walk, pass Hay Hill square on the left.
  6. Norwich Market is on your left after the second block of buildings.

From St Stephen’s Street

Head away from the roundabout end of the street and take the first left, crossing to the other side of the road. Immediately turn right into Gentlemans walk and follow instructions as above.

From the train station

  1. Come out of the train station and cross the car park.
  2. Walk across the bridge on the left hand side of the road, and stay on the left side, following Prince of Wales Road until it merges with Rose Lane.
  3. Continue to follow the road as it curves round, crossing over King Street and Rouen Road, until you come to the junction of Ber Street and Westlegate.
  4. Turn right down Westlegate, and follow it down until you come to St Stephen’s Street. Cross over to Theatre Street, immediately opposite, and then turn left into the wide, pedestrianised Gentlemans Walk.
  5. Continue down Gentlemans Walk, pass Hay Hill square on the left.
  6. Norwich Market is on your left after the second block of buildings.
